November's Adult Speaker

Mel Zabecki, Education Outreach Coordinatory for the Arkansas Archological Survey, will be at the library on Monday, November 4th at 6:00 p.m. to share about native plants and learn how they were gathered, grown, harvested, and processed by the prehistoric American Indians.  During her previous job as a park interpreter at Parkin Archeological State Park, she spent years experimenting with growing, gathering, and processing native ingredients that the American Indians would have included in their diets. In her talk, Mel will introduce the audience to the foodways of the Mississippian Indians of Arkansas and talk about the finer points of processing some ingredients that are no longer part of our modern diet.

Construction Closures

Construction is moving right along here at the Bella Vista Public Library. Trucks are constantly rolling in and out and the new space is starting to take shape. As we head towards our new expansion, there are a few projects that need to happen within the existing library. Unfortunately, this means that the library will need to close for a few days. Fortunately, this means that the project is progressing! At the moment, it looks as though the library will need to be closed on Monday, September 16th, Friday, September 27th, and Saturday, September 28th. There is a chance that access to the parking lot and book drop may also be impaired during this work, so please bear that in mind. As with all things in construction, these dates are subject to change, so please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for updates. During the closures, we will be extending due dates so please feel free to hold onto your materials until we reopen.

We'd like to extend a very large thank you to our patrons and our community for being so supportive and understanding during this project. It is an exciting time here at the library and we can't wait to share the final result with you all.

We Are Under Construction!

We are officially under construction on our new library expansion. Construction crews are working hard to create our new space. Be aware that it will be noisier than usual around the library and it may be difficult to find a parking spot. We appreciate your patience with us during this exciting time.
